The subject matter of humour during such a dangerous time was possibly the greatest scriptwriting of its time. We looked forward to the repartee, planning of practical jokes, serious moments when wounded soldiers were flown in and the ultimate pathos of the serious side of war. I watch it every time there is a re-run, marvelling at the occasional “golden snippet” I had missed on earlier viewings. Thank you to the scriptwriters, producers and the actors for all the smiles.

As a UK visitor to the US i enjoy watching Ellen. The professionalism is superb. I will miss her and the guests and the repartee. Thanks Ellen for years of enjoyment when i get to the US.

The film, the show, the story, all absolutely brilliant. Maybe its an age thing but its timeless, its a wonderful lesson in life.
