Not sure what to think about this game. As EA have definitely been paying influencers, and employing bots, to hype it as "the best football game ever" when it really isn't. Good enjoyable game, with flaws, like most EA sports games. EA don't give you an accurate sporting experience - they create their own version of the sport, and then call it football, or soccer, or hockey. Once you are comfortable with that, you can enjoy Madden, EA Sports FC and games like this

I've tried really hard to like this game, but it's just bad. I only paid £15 for it, in the summer sale, and still feel ripped off. The main problem is defending. And the fact that games feel fixed. As if the results are manufactured. 1.The AI makes sure that every deflection goes against you. 2. It forces your goalkeeper into mistakes - often several in a game. 3. Your team doesn't press, no matter what tactics you use. 4. It's very hard to tackle the AI players - they often just walk through them. 5. Your players never push up, regardless of your instructions to them. They sit on the edge of the penalty area, inviting pressure 5. And worst of all, the AI just exploits all of that in every game. It never tries long range shots, because it knows it can just walk the ball into the net, because of your inability to tackle, or press or win the ball back. On the flip side, the AI defending is massively overpowered. 1. Players press very tight all game, without losing any energy. There is no space to do anything 2. They win every tackle 3. They get every deflection 4. They intercept nearly every pass 5. The goalkeepers play like Spiderman. They save almost everything It just creates a very unrealistic experience. Even if you manage to win, and keep a clean sheet - that will only be because your goalkeeper had a miracle game. The AI will have 7-8 shots on target, every game. Which rarely ever happens in a real game.

This game is horrible. It's the difficulty settings that are the real problem. You have "professional", "world class" and "ultimate" to choose from. Professional is so easy that you win every game 6-0, and World Class and Ultimate are so ridiculously difficult that you will be lucky to win a game all season. So, it's either ridiculously easy or ridiculously difficult - nothing in between. As for the game play, defending is almost impossible if you're playing at world class or ultimate levels. Your opponent will pass the ball around like 2009 Barcelona, no matter who you were playing. You could be playing Dagenham FC, and they'll be scoring 30 pass wonder goals against you. Every team you face uses exactly the same tactics - which is parking the bus, and putting all 11 players behind the ball so you have zero space to play in. And, it just has this feeling that everything is fixed? Like, the CPU will win 90% of 50/50 tackles, and intercept your passes with ease, no matter how well aimed the pass is. Whereas the human player will find it almost impossible to tackle the CPU players, or intercept any balls. It's just crazy how poorly designed this all is.
