I give this 4 out of 5 for the following reasons: -The movie has a very good story (+2). It follows a very easy to understand story and it makes sense as well. (I don't want to spoil too much of it) but Sid the sloth and Manny the Mammoth find a baby and try to take it back to his family, and a saber tooth tiger named Diego tries to kill the baby for his pride, but eventually switches sides. -The characters have great personalities (+1). Sid is annoying and not too smart, Manny is protective and headstrong, and Diego is secretive and sneaky. And pretty headstrong as well. -The music is very interesting and includes a famous song (+1). The soundtrack matches what is going on very well. It also includes a famous song called "Send me on my way" by Rusted Root, which has 50M views. -The animation quality is not too good (-1). This movie did not have the best animation but it was a high quality movie with an amazing story. It is made in 2002 after all.

I love the Ice Age movies. I've been obsessed with them for years. Part one through four was so amazing, told such a good story, and maintained the factors of life before humanity (except for the first installment which was supposed to be the last film if you think about it really well, due to scientific factors and stuff) Anyway this movie was absolute trash. Here's why: -Julian came out of nowhere so we didn't make a bond or connection to him. And Luis is gone, I loved Luis! That little simp was right all along and he would be awesome in this movie, but nooo he has to be in the background sipping a coconut. We could make a bond with Sid or Manny because we've seen them so long, and Ellie, the possums, and Buck are as well. -The dinobirds ALSO came out of nowhere, so how are we supposed to connect to them? They have almost as little personality as Shira, and we know so little about their history, like Shira. (But Shira was cool in pt 4) -They literally said the moral of the story. You don't do that. Never, it makes the movie bad. You need to persuade the viewer over time. For example if the moral was don't lie, we need to see the character grow throughout because of the lying and what changed and how they act after the consequences. But nooo we just gotta say it after 4 seconds of understanding Shangri Llama's motifs. "Change isn't easy but it's a part of life." Yeah argue with me and say that Manny and Ellie did the same thing, at least they didn't say it and they grew overtime with it, and yeah we met Shangri Llama and Sid's gf in the middle of the movie so what? -All the characters have almost no personality. Buck has more personality than Sid! What is that saying?? Out of them all, Shira has the least. She talked like 4 times in the whole movie, let alone did anything. Diego has no personality like he used to, Manny and Ellie aren't the same people, they changed almost completely! -The cast is literal garbage. BSS is trying too hard to make money off of a series that should have ended with part 3 (or let alone just part 2 would have been PERFECTLY FINE) and guess what happens? the movie makes nothing. Yes it had a good box office of 400 mil but it had a BO of 60 million! The only reason why it got 400 million is cuz of other countries. 60B is small for a billion dollar company. That shows how little they cared. They just hired the top of the top actors and stuff which drops interest. I cringed hearing Jessie J and I could have been fine without Nicki and Drake in part 4. -Just a side note but John Powell is one of the greatest film composers of all time and unfortunately he didn't make the soundtrack. Good, I didn't expect too much either. The soundtrack was kind of annoying and repetitive and the last song by Jessie J was annoying as hell, it sounds like a Taylor Swift song they made in 10 minutes. Even I could make a song that sounds better in 10 minutes, I've made songs that won awards (She has too but this one didn't and not to brag guys not to brag) that I made in 24 minutes. And they are trash! -Scrat no longer has his 'oh no my acorn!' feel to him like he once did. He would always fail HILARIOUSLY. Key word hilariously. In this movie there's nothing funny he did except show us his thicc cakes and get penetrated by the acorn twice, an adult joke kids prolly wouldn't get so it's funny since it's a butt joke anyway. I hope with all my heart that this series does NOT make a part 6. Please stop milking this dead cow.
