If you like the original Rick and Morty and you want more of that, then you will absolutely hate this anime. This truly is an anime. It is not a comedy, it's not an American adult animated show at all, in any way. It was made by an actual anime production studio in Japan and it was made in exactly the same way that any other anime is produced. This means that there is even a considerable difference between translations for the English subtitles and English voice dubbing. This was a detail that most anime fans probably wouldn't even expect. This is not even like Avatar, which is often considered American anime. If you watch the show expecting a dry science fiction anime like Planetes, then you will not be disappointed too much. As far as dry science fiction anime goes, the Rick and Morty anime is not bad. It is highly stylized and avoid anime art tropes. It doesn't waste time with extremely long plot dumps. Only one episode is out though, so I can't review the story at all. I can say the first episode does not have a good hook at all, which is why most people are calling it boring. Like many anime, the first episode is boring. The second or third episode could be incredible though and the list of classic anime with boring first episodes is very long. If you don't like anime, don't watch this. If you are a Rick and Morty super fan, don't watch this. If you really liked Planetes twenty years ago, then you will probably like this to some degree.

Moonfall is bad in a way that I didn't think was even possible. The entire movie is a series of hackneyed clichés strung together with CGI. It feels like this movie was written by an AI that is designed to write movies that will sell well in China and other emerging foreign markets.

This show has little to nothing in common with the Asimov series of books, and instead is a generic space opera with a few awkward fight scenes. This is equivalent to the Will Smith movie I, Robot in terms of connection to the Asimov stories. If you love Azimov, you will hate this show and spend the entire time wondering if Goyer even read any of Azimov's books. The plot holes that Goyer introduces are so large that it completely ruins the show. The entire message of Foundation, which is that no one person can see the long term effects of their legacy, is destroyed in that all characters in the show magically live for hundreds of years.
