I came in with somewhat mid expectations because of the aftermath of 2.0. The film didn't have the same feel and look of the first movie which came out in 1996.
The first half was average, but it was very short with the main actors like Siddharth and Priya. The intro for Kamal wasn't that good but it was nice to see his face on the big screen. The song choreography was not good. It looked like a bunch of first grade students dancing ðŸ˜.
The second half was more intense with emotions, it kinda saved the film in a way but it was very long. Personally I think Anirudh didn't do that good in terms of the background score.
I still would've wanted more of Rahman sir's score in the movie because it was good in the first movie.
Vivek's comedy was good but it felt like it was cut short (maybe due to the runtime) but visually you can see the CG and AI tech that they've implemented and it looked very weird and you can see it in the film.
Kamal's performance was good but his dialogues were very long, and it pulled away from the plot about corruption into his different techniques about Varma Kalai. It was so boring.
The film was too long, roughly about three hours long. At the end they talked about Senapathy's father and how he was a freedom fighter, and how it all started in the prehistoric times. I think we'll see Shankar's peak vision for the film.
