It's an awesome dark comedy movie. Actually the trailer may have mislead many into think its a pure comedy. These were really situational comedy scenes that could happen to anyone. Though the initial few minutes were a bit dragging, it later moves on at a fast pace one incident after another. Really loved everyone's acting, be it the big actors or even the small actors who might have come for a minute. For people who didn't like this movie, all I can say is that they might have expected something else and skipped many parts.

"Jailer" is a spectacular action entertainment. After years you are getting to see a proper Rajnikanth movie. And that to playing his age. It is must-watch for his fans and any film lovers. Whole credit to Director Nelson in bringing out was missing in many of the latest Rajni movies, the character stylization is brilliant. The energetic pacing of the movie so nice that there is never a lag even if it is a really sentimental scene. It is really captivating. All the character who come in even for a small time makes a mark. The use of the star-studded cameos of Mohanlal, Shivrajkumar, Jackie Shroff is rightly timed and giving them their sufficient screen space highlighting their importance in the script and no one is overshadowed though it was a Rajni film. And Vinayakan as the villain (hardly a spoiler) is awesome to stand against Rajni throughout the movie. The adrenaline-pumping action sequences is rightly balance with humour wherever it is required. Anirudh's BGM makes it great for the whole theatre experience. Now the multiplexes had sort of ruined the FDFS experience of the fans movies, but the energy of the audience brought back the nostalgia of the old theatres, especially for the intro of Rajni, Mohanlal & Shivrajkumar.
