I first watched this in 1995 when it was on video. Absolutely amazing and I have watched it and read the book many times. Highly recommend!

Do NOT waste your time on this vile garbage of a movie. Going to the OBGYN is not a social event many women like and the writer has the nerve to make the waiting area seem like a boozy lounge. The disgusting manner in which it portrays a visit to the doctor who is ready with a cold clamp in hand and "fur feet cushions" is so sad. The way it ended was even more disgusting because it was as if the director gets off on women's discomfort. Birth is beautiful and disease prevention is great but how this movie came to be I'll never understand.
