I had read the book 30 years ago.The 800+page novel is spectacular,as it brings the fabric of the american society ,a section of which cannot tolerate a black occupying the white house.It is the man Douglous Dilman fight against dishonesty and hypocricy.

I have just finished reading the book. A fantastic journey of story telling. The authors portrayal of human emotions is supperlative. A must read for all fans of jhumpa Lahiri!
