I enjoyed it! I don’t think it was Empire Strikes Back-good, but it’s not cringe-worthy, either. The exposition suffers a bit from trying to hurry to get to the meat of the story, but it has some neat twists on some of the familiar fan theories about Reu’s origins. The story also suffers a bit from trying to rush to the showdown with the nemesis, but all in all, it was definitely worth watching.

I loved it. This is a great what-if or role reversal take on the Superman legend. There was a bit of foreshadowing in a classroom scene early in the movie, and if you blink, you’ll miss it. A couple of the scenes were really gory, so if you have a weak stomach, be warned. Elizabeth Banks was awesome, as always and the actor playing Brandon was terrific and terrifying at the same time.
