When the show was highly recommended to me by a friend, I didn't quite bother since adaptations are known to be horrible, due to terrible acting and forgive me for my own opinion, beauty standards. Sadly when I compare an amazing manga or anime to its adaptation, I always prefer 2d animations. As some might agree with me, 2d characters are more pretty than real people (maybe its just my standards being too high).
Usually I would read the manga then watch the anime if there is one, then ignore the adaptation because of the stereotype, but since I was browsing through Netflix for good shows and just so happened to come across Alice in Borderland, I watched it first.
Season one already had me hooked as the games that were played and the decisions of the characters were too smart for me, everything I expected to happen didn't happen. It almost felt like I was one of the rich people who spectates the games.
Season two for me, felt like an upgrade from season 1, though some might disagree. As if season one didn't give me enough 'You're officially stupid cuz you'd die first if you were in the games', season two gave me a mental boom, especially the last game in the final episodes where I almost had a meltdown trying to comprehend what is going on.
The acting was fantastic 9/10
Facial muscle twitches, expressions, body movements and such.
Plot was on point 8/10
Due to how unrealistic the surviving half a round of bullets in chest is. I know that fans didn't like the explanation of the reason for the games but I don't quite mind that.
Amount of mind boom moments 10/10
Too much
Looks 7/10
I'm the type who's quite heavy on looks, so although I prefer the adaptation over the manga, I still liked illustrations better (don't judge... Please).
And lasty, the honorable mentions
Camera angle 100/10
I have to give this score cuz of the season 2 episode 2, king of clubs scene. I loved it.
I'm glad I watched this and would have regretted if I didn't.
