The concept is hilarious but the scripts is weak and the performances unconvincing. There are too many trite and predictable plot lines. John Cena is excellent but Andrew Santino is wooden and unamusing. A real disappointment.

The holy grail for sci-fi movies is to create a world so coherent and so arcane that the audience easily suspends disbelief and effortlessly immerses itself in the fantasy. This movie crosses that rubicon. Superb performances from Zendaya and Timothy Chalomet, ably supported by Javier Bardem and Rebecca Ferguson. There is no hidden message, no prompt to reflect, there is only the magic of the story and the stunning visual effects. A modern classic and the most exciting sci-fi universe since Star Wars.
