Not sure why the professional critics seemed so down on this movie. Plot was interesting and nicely tied in elements of the classic Disney sleeping beauty story but from a different perspective and with a twist. The visuals and sfx were good. The acting and dialog were solid. Sure it has a little bit of a sacarine ending, but come on, it's a Disney movie. Besides a happy ending isn't always a bad thing. It may not be Lord of the Rings or Apocalypse Now or The Godfather but it's certainly enjoyable, well worth a watch and will probably leave a smile on your face.

Excellent movie but not the "typical" comic book villain or villain origin story. It is a thoughtful and thought provoking origin story for a disturbed serial killer. Imagine a movie that is the origin story of Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs; as understood from Bill's perspective. Equal parts disturbing, engrossing, uncomfortable and compelling.
