Decent offering from M. Night Shalamalamanabam. Could have been so much better if her sister ended up being one of them at the end. But, it seemed they wanted to wrap it up quick and that's what they did. Character depth is non existent and look out for the road she was driving on to get her into the forest at the start because it clearly doesn't exist. Holes all over this film but not worth getting into. Dakota was alright but like I say no character. She claimed to be a bad person and wore wigs for what seemed like nights out/meeting guys but why? No reason? Leaves you to think she loathed herself and to escape the reality of her life. Plus lots of focus on her vaping at the start but then nothing from the woods onwards so I guess she gave up? It is what it is. In parts creepy but like most of his films more bark than bite.

There's so many holes in this film. They stick to some historical rules on vampires, but others, such as having to welcome a vampire across a threshold go out the window. It's cheesy with the operatic singing in the background in places. It tries to be a cross between IT and Salems Lot with the kids. The priests cross fails due to his wavering conviction, but it works in the hands of anyone else. The main guy holding back against his girlfriend is ridiculous. So many things annoy me about this film. I was writing this while watching the film and originally gave it 2 stars but took it down to 1 star. The ending was too bad to recover from. Don't waste your time.
