This movie brought me back to the year 2019 when my child faced the same situation from a University (other than Mumbai univ) in the PG final results. The result didnt appear in the list and when I confronted the Mentor, she said it was due to technical error . somehow after 2 months, due to my tactful initiation, got the marksheet as Passed, B + . While all other sems' marks were A or A+, B+.
Her 2nd year PG studies and attendance suffered, reasons best known to the Mentor (who used to say that she will see to it that my child doesn't become a .......professional ) When I requested for checking the marks after seeing the marklist, it was said that it is not allowed.
Due to this B+ grade, my child didn't want to continue in that field as, going to that college for LOR was traumatic, mentor also being the HOD . Painfully, we let it go, ( as mark sheet was received after 2 months while my child lost all hopes and suffered mentally and physically) She has chosen a different field altogether, but the pain is still there that A Grade in the PG certificate got lost to someone's ego, game, instigation etc.
Had I not initiated to face the Mentor saying that I shall reach out to the Univ Registrar and that I am writing a book on my child's traumatic journey, my child would have just been a BA graduate (74%) and failed in PG. Just thanking God for my guts to trust my child's words as shown in this movie. The Research and internship marks were given C grade , where we can't get the marks she said (they can give as per wish, hence 'C'). Still, Overall was 60% but due to CGPA 6.87, the result shows B+.
Each year 2 students wud be failed (was the word going on in the college and my child kept saying that this year it will be her) but that year it didn't happen. One target was my child. Thanks to few who, knowing my child's potential, helped her continue and not quit half way. It is God's grace that she bravely completed the 2nd year and gave exam inspite of the vibe compelling her to quit.
Am not aware what's happening there after that.
Public should be aware of these facts, though we can't fight the system, being normal citizens, parents must put a brave front for their children's future to the extent possible.
Such films do not get public attention and it is sad. Loved the movie and the act by Raveena Tandon, would love to watch such realistic movies concerning normal public.
