Absurdity dressed up brilliantly and with great authority to look like a profound statement about the highly suspect human condition... and in fact, that's exactly what it is.

Neat horror which delivers its grotesque shocks effectively, often with humour in a way that reminded me of Peter Jackson's Braindead.

An overblown waste of money and effort.

Not terrible by any means, but it never quite takes hold and you can't help comparing it with its obvious role model, John Carpenter's The Thing which benefited from a bigger budget and a tighter grip. The voice of 'God' just feels a bit silly.

A smart, multi-layered take on the genre, it is engaging and thought-provoking.
