I have never left a movie/series review but felt that this is needed. It's a must watch, not only for the story line, brilliant costumes but also for it's currency. Although meaning to be set in the past, the King's Affection addresses so many current topics eloquently. Here are the main ones: - The differences between 'classes' and the fact that to this day, the upper class manages to 'get away with murder'. - The fact that true love isn't based on gender/sex. It's based on respect, loyalty, honesty and admiration. - It highlights that, to this day, women are still not treated equally. However, things are changing. I just loved it!
