This book only had two good scenes which really made me feel something. SPOILER WARNING ---- 1.) The scene where Kelton's brother comes back, while people are trying to break into Kelton's house. And Kelton's father shoots his oldest son. This scene literally made me gasp allowed. 2.) The scene where some teen boys are fighting Alyssa and to get them off of her, she spits in their face. That's when the boy licks her spit, and begs her to do it again. This was a horror scene if I'm being honest.
Those two are the only scenes which made me read the entire book. Hoping to see scenes like those again. Unfortunately, the potential was lost. The ending was unsatisfying, the characters were bland - (except for Kelton. He definitely got the most character development and had the most interesting personality.) - the characters interactions with each other made it hard to believe they would agree to work together, and Kelton 100% should've been the main character. Now, I'm all for female protagonists, but when they don't do anything they aren't that great. (That goes for any protagonist really.) So if your planning on reading or getting this book. Personally, don't waste your time.
Last but not least, (if the authors are reading this,) have you tried writing horror? I think you would great at it! The potential is there, and even with scenes that don't include blood and gore you still managed to make me feel disgusted/scared/intrigued... nice work.
