I really loved this book and could relate to a number of experiences and insights that the author covered. I first went to Egypt in 1971 and fell in love with the country and its people. This book would appeal to the armchair tourist, the modern day explorer/adventurer or an inquisitive traveller looking for something different. I have been to many of the places mentioned here and they are faithfully represented by the author. A good read, an enjoyable book that will make you think.
