Spoiler Alert
This movie started well and was growing on us - at first. The direction the plot was going in resonated with anybody working in the corporate world who has seen old norms (the bad ones) slowly going away.
Where the movie lost me was on the personal side. Emily's reaction to Luke's increasingly bad behavior was not reflective of her strong character. He starts with passive aggressiveness ("you dress like a cupcake" i.e. insults her wardrobe), and it goes down from there. She finally figures out he's lost his mind is something between a lost soul and just a loser, but a loser with psychotic tendencies. Getting on his knees and giving a servile speech to the boss after she explained he "was out" and she'd help him find a new role should have been the last straw...but it was not.
And, predictably, the downward spiral continued. Anybody (*like me*) who has had a crazy ex that does batsh*t/violent crazy things when you try to leave them you should ghost at once and consider a restraining order. The engagement party was really the last straw (do these folks have any real friends?). When the guests could see an intoxicated semi-violent guy at the bar nobody stepped in to talk. When Emily left and he followed I was fully expecting somebody to go follow them out - just to be safe - but no.
that was the last scene I saw. three stars for good performances.
