Titles such as ‘most underrated rapper in the world’ serve more as a shorthand to make the point that the people we love aren’t underrated by those that love them - to listen to Vince is to appreciate a rapper of singular depth, dexterity and artistic vision - but just an acknowledgement that the contingent of those in his camp should be bigger. This is a another consistently great collection of songs and one that keeps drawing me back months after first hearing it. In this age where albums can have the lifespan of mayflies, that’s no small matter.
