I wasn’t aware it was a horror series expected maybe creepy thriller from a Stephen king Novel. Horror genre fans generally want society stripped of false narratives - myths such as authority will protect us, that “God is good”, and has a mysterious plan for our life, and we’ll be rewarded in the afterlife. Whereas a belief in God isn’t a comfort but the ultimate false hope - the conclusion feels more like colossal bs. The author is an atheist w/ belief in science yet there’s lil criticism and zero justice for the 2 cult leaders Bev and young Pruitt. I was really angry when the dog died (Bev poisoned the town drunk’s pitbull bc it scared her and bc she’s a cruel narcissistic self righteous hiding under the guise of pious Christianity. Erin and the sheriff both knew she did it but never confronted her. Sheriff may have let Bev know that he knew but never so much as to even chastise her. In fact only gave her more reason to believe she’ll get away w/ murder and do always what she wants.
Erin did nothing to Bev she never stood up to her not once did she hush her at the pta meeting which was ridiculous bc she had strong points, and Bev bullied her to keep her mouth shut.
Atheists and Agnostics already have to fight for their rights to even up the scores. As do Muslims when it comes to American Christianity.
You’d think that the author wouldn’t allow the underdog to be undertaken.
