I agree with all the five-star reviews here because the show is absolutely spectacular in all the ways of authenticity and canonicity and just Brilliance in terms of the characters and acting and writing and Chemistry Between all of them. All I can add is that it's amazing that the characters here for the most part are based on the characters in a pilot program that Gene Roddenberry created that was rejected by the network. We know that pilot very well of course because they later used parts of it in a two-part Star Trek episode called the menagerie. And we've all seen the original pilot because it's on TV whenever you want. But unless Star Trek had later been accepted with the second pilot, we never would have known Captain Pike and number one and Mr Spock. Really shows you that Roddenberry's original idea must have been absolutely brilliant because it was this Flexible and This resonant Even today. Of course they supplement these characters from the cage with other characters from the original series who are purported to have been on Captain Pikes Enterprise. You get the idea so I must end my review and get back to re-watching season 2.
