📚What's it about? Neena Gupta is an Indian Actor who has straddled Theatre, Cinema and Television seemingly effortlessly. Known and identified for her 'bold' choices, this label was thrust upon her, blanketing all other aspects of her true personality. In this candid narration, Neena Gupta talks about her life that started from Karol Baug, Delhi to her journey that lead her to where she is now, and the people she met with and parted ways from along the way.

📚What did I think of it? Autobiographies are tricky. There is a danger of them being odes to the Author or bitter rants where the Author portrays themselves as the victim who got a raw deal.
Sach Kahoon Toh by Neena Gupta is neither. It is a refreshing narration that rips off the only prominent label she is known be 'an unwed mother/a bold woman'.
I must confess, I didn't 'read' the book, I 'heard' it in Neena Gupta's voice. I finished it in one go last night.
Neena talks about her childhood, her youth, her time at the NSD, even a 1st Marriage, that I had no clue about.
While she is open about the relationships she had, and how some of them just didn't turn out right, I truly appreciate the fact that she withheld real names, keeping the families of the people involved in mind.
There is no mudslinging, no name calling, just thinking aloud.
Neena talks about her insecurities, mulls over the mistakes she has made and is apologetic about some decisions she took, or didn't.

📚Wow or Not Now? I found it to be a very inspiring read and just couldn't put it down till I turned the last page. There was no attempt to sensationalize any aspect of her life.

📚What Else? I am a HUGE fan of Neena Gupta, but this is NOT a biased review.
