Incredible… We missed our showing of Wicked by 15 minutes, so we didn’t have the chance to view the opening. Regardless, this movie was absolutely spectacular— I haven’t seen the Broadway production. To believe that all of the singing done in this movie was live is astounding. Both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande brought their A-game in respect to the musical numbers, as well as their acting. The world building is absolutely breath taking. The land of Oz looks beautiful. Sets and props look stunning and carry the importance of world-building, especially for a world like Oz. Many scenes throughout the movie were emotional, and although I didn’t shed tears, others definitely did in the theater. The movie reflects and touches upon many aspects that are relatable to the audience. I can’t wait for Part 2.

Great solid movie that stands out upon others with its remarkable CGI and great film shots. Suspenseful scenes. At the same time, plot is really bad and suffers from characters that really should just know better than to not do what they are doing. Watch it for the visuals, not for the story. It isn't bad enough to warrant a 1 star, but at the same time, it's nothing spectacular.
