Took awhile to take it all in with the focus on how Gene was depicted, the cursing that seemed out of sync with the times, the limited vocabulary and the overwrought depiction of virtually all characters. In the second half, however, the character's' narratives and historical context are fleshed out with surprising sensitivity and poignancy. A must-see, bittersweet documentary that is guaranteed to pique your interest in W. Eugene Smith's work and global pollution, in general.
