Vikings Valhalla only scratches the surface of the characters compared to the original show. Vikings showed the relationships between Ragnar and Rollo. The way they cared for their children and the everyday lifestyle of Vikings at the time. The acting and cast are decent but it's the writing that lacks compared to Vikings. Michael Hirsch said in an interview that Ragnar was supposed to be killed off in the first season but his acting and the writing took on a life of its own. The first 4 seasons was all about Ragnar and his family and was riveting. The series is now superficial, you barely know anything about the characters and honestly it's just not holding my attention like Vikings.
