Only an experienced mountaineer familiar with today's state of the art equipment and sensitive to the serious dangers could have authored such a book. It really is a thriller involving an heroic rescue. I definitely teared up at the very end because of the courage of each participant which did include the author in retelling the gripping tale through interviews with his dear friends. If you have ever found yourself (as I have) judging the wisdom of risky adventures, you should really read this book. The rescue involved men and women who somehow have managed to make a career of risk taking. I don't want to say anymore or I'll spoil the story.
