Having read the poor reviews , I felt some what dismayed at what had been done to this classic musical. I finally went to see it today, not expecting much, but at least spending quality time with friends. Wow!! Totally amazing piece of film. Expertly cast, amazing special effects and virtually true to the origional story. Even the clever routing of the sound, splitting the vocal form the music was very clever I thought. I just can't praise this highly enough. Technically brilliant. Very comical aspects also. Like the stage show, it will be one of those film that you discover new elements every time. I think the critics must be dead between the ears!
