So, they hyped up this movie as the "Greatest car film in years!" or so they claim in all their marketing quotes. But let me set the record straight—it's basically a car movie without the cars. Sure, there are a couple of scenes with people driving, but that's about it. No behind-the-scenes car development stuff, just a few accidents thrown in for good measure.
And if you were hoping to get an inside look at the life of Ferrari, well, good luck. Barely scratched the surface there. Instead, it plays out more like a drama about some guy juggling a wife and a mistress, but with the twist that the wife owns a chunk of his company. That's the so-called Ferrari life they're selling.
If you went in expecting a deep dive into Ferrari's journey or a cool biography presented in an interesting way, forget about it. This thing is just a money grab, and I'm left wondering where the heck they blew $96 million. Your guess is as good as mine.
I'll throw 'em a bone and give it 2 stars for the acting, but that's about all it's getting from me.
