Excellent coming of age movie, Brooklyn Prince deserves an Academy Award for her portrayal of a real 13 YO facing real problems, & finding out that, yes indeed, life is sweet! No car chases, guns, violence, obscenities. Brian Cox as usual delivers a stunning performance.

There would never have been people of color in positions of power during the early 19th century, but now with Presentism running rampant throughout our culture, we somehow need to believe that it was possible. The beautiful cinematography can’t offset the unbelievable identity politics, sorry!

A confusing mess by a Hollywierd insider. Proof that big stars can’t rescue a bad adaptation. Don’t waste your money or time.
