As I opened to this book on my Kindle, and saw 528 pages, my first reaction was "Why did I volunteer to lead our Book Club discussion for February?" (We have been in Zoom mode for the past year, so not knowing the author or the story, I thought I had my work cut out for me). Well, I couldn't have been more wrong! This is such a powerful and well written book, that it is difficult to put it down. The characters are so vivid, that as the story unfolds over a period of 300 years, they jump off the page and you want to know more about them. I will not spoil your enjoyment of reading this, but I can't wait for our Book Club Zoom on Wednesday night to keep the story alive! Thank you V.E. Schwab for an unforgettable book. You have made a fan. I hope your next novel doesn't take ten more years.
