In two words, really bad. The only reason I'm not rating it lower is because the few spare moments we get to see a monster are fun. Other than that the human element, as always in the US Godzilla stuff, is mind numbingly terrible. What really kicks me in the balls is that it's not even a bad idea to have a show "explore the human element," it just has to not suck. Unfortunately, this show is miserable. Every time a character is speaking I find myself rolling my eyes. The only times I'm mostly okay with the dialogue is when we're in the past timeline. That bit is okay, but infrequent.

While I don't personally mind the focus on the human perspective in this alien invasion show, holy moly the divorce family drama watches like one of the writers was fantasizing about what she would have done in her divorce, if only she'd just thought of it then. The husband cheats, and then every. single. revelation about his cheating is drawn out in some long set up, where the wife shows how smart she is by hinting very cleverly that she knows what he's done, until the dumb as bricks husband (who never once feels like a real person except for maybe in the first scene) finally realizes she figured him out and has his oh whaaaaaaat. Aw maaaaan. How did she figure it out whaaaaa. It's really cringe and overwhelmingly boring. Skip through their bs. The rest of the show ranges from fine to good.
