SPOILERS! Best movie ever. It showed how she was strong and gifted when she was young, but she was expected to hide it and pretend she didn’t have chi because it wasn’t feminine. She was ashamed that she revealed it while she was at training until she realized that it was excepted as long as she was a boy. She’s been criticized for “abandoning” her friends in the first fight, but in my opinion she was actually protecting them by going after the northern invaders. She saved everyone’s lives and I think they portrayed her very well.
