People forget that this came out a year before Evil Dead II and is the same in tone and execution. As celebrated as the original is, I think this is even better. It's helped by a bigger budget, brilliant set design and some star power. Tom Savini's gore and special effects are top-notch. It's wacky, wild and quite subversive. Give it a try...
