Hi What a let down...no characters are developed or even remotely believible ...stupid story line...makes no sense? I am a WW1 buff..it's my hobby..and it's such a shame that this WW1 film..is nothing more then cinematic effects...full of terrible cliche...it was terrible..totally forgettable...the 2 main characters are out on a country stroll ..having a natter.. in no man's land ?? Really ? The sentiment of the absolute waste..the hell of WW1 was not emphasised....in the story.. just visulistic snap shots..is not enough...I was so surprised..that this was...so bad ..and as for it being nominated..and even winning awards..I find astounding...the acting..story..was terrible...what makes it worse..is that the best we can do..to reflect the hell of WW1 ? What it was like ?..for the ppl that sacrificed so much....A Saving private Ryan type mission...when all they had to do while taking photos from the air of the landscape of the cut off battalion.. is drop a order in a canister...FFS..???? Ok ok..the film has 1 1/2 hours only to try and show a piece of 1917...but this is a prelude to a VIDEO GAME...that's what I see it as...it felt more like that then a Movie..
