So, I honestly had been dying to see this. Ever since the first trailer I couldn’t wait for it to come out. When I saw a guy get eaten by a dinosaur while riding a kids scooter I was all in. I love the original and it’s sequel. The other three were entertaining. So I was wound up for Jurassic World Dominion. Then I saw it. I think reviewers who have given this high ratings for the story have all been caught up in the special effects and action. Because honestly there really is a big problem with the film and it’s a plot hole big enough to drive very a dinosaur through. A teenage girl and a raptor get kidnapped by evil corp and cue the cast of Jurassic World. Dr Malcolm works for evil corp and has found them up to evil and enlists Dr Satttler and Dr Grant to help expose evil corps evil deeds. Evil corps evil deeds are why evil corp kidnapped the girl and Raptor( who by the way gets snatched five minutes in and shows back up at the end). Here’s the problem, we’re lead to believe that the only way for Malcolm to expose evil corp is to get in touch with his old crew and wait for them to accept an invitation to come to evil corp to use Malcolm’s pass credentials to sneak into a secured lab and steal dna proof to expose evil corp to the world. No idea how long it has taken for the old crew to accept the invite and how long evil corp has been up to evil but it appears from the movie it’s been a while. And here it comes - about halfway through the writers thought it would be a good way to get the old crew out of trouble by having a co worker of Malcolm’s introduce himself as co whistleblower. We already met this character and learned he was a pretty big deal with evil corp as he has the same clearances and access as Malcolm. Just sloppy writing you may think, no big deal right. Wrong, if Ian Malcolm and his co conspirator had all of this access to the labs and they were so concerned about exposing evil corp then why did they wait for the old crew to finally accept the invite so They could steal the evidence. Malcolm and cohort could have done the deed, evil corp would have been stopped and the girl and Raptor would have never been kidnapped. So yeah absolutely nothing in this movie ever needed to happen. If you need to see it, AMC theaters and universal have made a deal to stream movies 17 days after release in theaters so sign up for peacock and watch it there for the price of a subscription or if you’re smart find a away for a free trial and watch it for free.

No spoilers but one very important point apparently over looked ( by other reviewers) so read on - First, Top Gun Maverick has amazing flight scenes and dog fights. Other than that it is mediocre at best. Second, let me just say this-the screenwriters should be ashamed of themselves. Case in point. One very important point. A very important plot point. If you have seen the movie and didn’t recognize a blatant rip off of a far better movie. Stolen almost exactly to the T. Then allow me to explain with just the highlights of another attack plan. Star Wars - General Dodonna : The battle station is heavily shielded and carries a firepower greater than half the star fleet. Its defenses are designed around a direct, large-scale assault. A small one-man fighter should be able to penetrate the outer defense. Gold Leader : Pardon me for asking, sir, but what good are snub fighters going to be against that? Luke : It's not impossible. I used to bullseye womp rats in my T-16 back home, they're not much bigger than two meters. And then the trench run. Very very sad. Enough said.
