My wife and I have been avid fans of this show for many many years. As visitors to Shetland in 2014 we recognise so much of the scenery and of Lerwick. Sadly the show is slowly slipping into the world of fantasy and irrelevance. Series 7 was very OTT but probably a good send off for Douglas Henshall and his character Jimmie Perez, as he was becoming continuously overwrought. Series 8, well what abject nonsense. The new DI Calder is seriously unprofessional and would be bounced out of any real Police Force. The DC is just incompetent and given the stupidous lines. Who is this new Fiscal and why do they think they are Police? Tosh at least is consistent. For the first 6 seasons 4 stars, season 7 "3" and season 8 "1".
