This movie was was a poignant and honest depiction of relationships that exist between the black community and police officers. I can only imagine that the critics that downgraded this movie were people who have never been in the fictional "Jefferson's" shoes. Not all people of color have lost someone to police violence. However, most have experienced it up close and personally. This movie gives those people a voice. It helps explain the feelings of degradation and worthlessness as well as the mistrust communities of color have in the phrase "law and order." Well done.
