This is one of his best albums. I grew up listening to him via my dad who was an avid jazz enthusiastic. He taught me to appreciate jazz as an art form. And although I was just a young child of 10 years of age, I grew to love jazz music. Horace Silver was among the greatest jazz pianist to live. Song for my Father is a classic and only serious jazz lovers can relate. I thank my dad for the introduction of Miles, Coltrane, Eddie Harris, Thelonius Monk, Stanley Turrentine, Wes, Lady Day, Sarah Vaughn and I could go on, and on.
