This is an interesting book… but I think the author doesn’t have the depth of knowledge or experience with personality tests to make his thesis stick. He’s essentially saying “personality tests aren’t valid or useful because people can change.” Duh. The whole premise of the Enneagram, as the best example, is that personality is dynamic and if you understand your most ingrained defense mechanisms you can change and grow in ways you never thought possible. Yes, please convince people that they need a growth mindset and change is possible. But I know of no better tools to start this process than the Enneagram, the Myer-Briggs or other personality assessments.
