One of the best examples of film making as an art.
This film is a poem, it takes you at a different level of philosophy. It taught me the true meaning, the essence of Deprivation.
Gem of a film. Even after having watched the film years ago, frames of this film come alive in mind, as you are watching people, walking down the street, a little away from you.

This is a very beautiful film, I have always been looking out for this film, but it is not available online. The songs are fabulous, the songs lead the story, it is a beautiful musical, perhaps the real musical in Hindi film.
Acting, direction, dancing, choreography, lyrics, cinematography is superb.
I love and often keep thinking about the song about Tea, Chai Chai Chia Chai and the old people dancing in it.
The song about Samundar ko langhe aisa koi ghat nahi is a thereputic song anytime you are feeling low and need to boost yourself up.
I hope the director, Mr. Amol Palekar makes this film available online. It will be a true tribute to few of the actors who worked in this film but are not alive any more, e.g., Arun Joglekar, Dilip Kulkarni, I am not sure if the lead actress Anita Kanvar. ]
Fabulous film.
