The best part of this movie is the relationship between Mulan and her dad. Giving an extra star because of Cricket and the small romance between Mulan and Honghui (the replacement of Li Shang -atleast she doesn't end up alone I guess...). Honestly there was no character development with Mulan or any of the characters - just that the dynasty can maybe finally see how women can be potential warriors and not just a house wife. The strongest character in this whole movie (the witch) dies the most anti-climatic way (poor woman). And if you know the bicycle kick, you are set.
If they were aiming for a more serious Mulan, they should have stuck with it and given it an actual plot and not a half washed version of the animated series. The worst part of this whole movie is that Mulan was already strong from the beginning, but her inability to accept herself "poisoned her chi" - yes you heard that right, there is "chi" in this movie.
