I feel like a lot of reviews aren't giving this movie due credit, even though I wish I could give half stars, because I would have rated it 3.5 in that case. Basically if you're a fan of "real" vampires and especially of the Dracula story, you should give this a watch because it is literally a modern retelling of "Dracula". Once you know that, yes it becmes quite predictable, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable. At least it didn't for me. I feel this movie could have been MUCH worse than it was, but the main character was relatable and the acting was good even though I hadn't seen or even heard of any of the actors before.
The ending was the best part imo, and part of that is just because she didn't need or wait for a "knight in shining armor" to show up and rescue her. In fact, she is entirely alone in the whole thing, with only the "families" and the vampires. When her attempt to run failed, she fought instead. I also liked how the subjects of race and class were brought up and handled. And I especially love how they didn't make the vampires look completely inhuman like they were turning into bats or some stupid thing. Big plus. This movie is worth a watch imo. Especially for any vampire/Dracula fans.
