Great show, although quite a tough one to watch in many aspects. Firstly, the acting is well done from everyone involved, and the main actors definitely deserve an award. Luo Jin (Princess Weiyoung) plays the crown prince who is under constant scrutiny and mistrust by his father, the emperor (Huang Zhizhong), opposed and scapegoated by his half brother (Jin Han) and stepmother, however also emotionally being supported by his spirited cousin (Zheng Yecheng) and warrior uncle and childhood teacher. So many names to name..... Li Yitong plays the crown prince love interest, however, I must admit that I never warmed to her character on screen. She played the character well, otherwise I would not liked and despised her at the same time. Lol There is so much drama, lots of intrigue, punishment, emotions, sadness, passion, backstabbing, twists, and tears with the occasional appearance of happiness and joy. It's a very deep passionate story line. Life is not always a happy one, such the series feels a bit more realistic than other shows. I watched the show on YouTube and the subtitles moved quite fast on occasion, no sounds for a bit or the translations were a bit off track, which made it occasionally hard to follow. Still, I managed and so can you. I was not sure of the ending, as it ended quite abruptly and left some open questions. However, I read that there are 2 endings, such I think I watched the "happy" ending. Well, I would have not liked to see the crown prince taking his own life, that's for sure. Overall, a good show to watch, but you need to remain devoted to all the episodes and I'm sure you are able, as it's a good show 😊
