I just saw the movie and should see it a second time to do a thorough review. However, my review is as follows: Carlos, apparently worked either for the Belgium embassy or an oil company. He moved around as if he'd been there before and knew a lot of people. And was used to retrieve documents of national security. What was actually in the documents wasn't important to the point that I would say that the plot was bad because we didn't find out what the documents were. Why? Being of national interest and national security and we weren't supposed to know what they were! They were important enough to kill for and this is all that mattered. Strategic oil fields, mineral deposits or mass graves, money laundering. Either which are common over there. If they had actually put in the script what was in the documents they may not have been able to publish the movie and the audience would want what was in the documents with. The issue was more about the people behind the scenes such as his friend and his mothe and how the military is used. I figured that the little boy was Carlos' son, implied because the mother was in love with Carlos and he didn't know about the little until he found his mother in prison. Check out Carlos' reaction when he found out. And later his wife's reaction when she found out. Considering the movie didn't have big stars, a large budget and delt with an issue that many African and South American countries have with European, American and the Chinese, I thought it was pretty good and more movies should be done like this. It's certainly better than the fake movies like the Marvel Super hero or the Jurassic Park movies.
