My husband and I are very impressed with this show. Two episodes in it’s one of the most visually stunning things I’ve ever seen on TV. It makes me very grateful I spent way too much money on the best TV I could find for Christmas. This is the best example I’ve seen of what high dynamic range can do in the right hands. Every frame is a master class in composition, color and light.
Every element of this show conveys quality, dedication and care. The actors are all brilliant, and embody the courage, integrity and fear of men living every day knowing it could be their last and facing insurmountable odds with dedication and professionalism in service of a cause greater than themselves.
Like Band of Brothers and the Pacific and good war documentaries, it’s harrowing and heartbreaking, and I know the tension will get almost unbearable in the coming episodes, but nothing would stop us from watching the rest. I’m mystified by the negative reviews here, on the basis of one or two episodes that had our household on the edge of our seats and in awe of the work of art this series is.
