This is without doubt one of the best crafted books I have ever read.
The pace is perfect and the many, well rounded characters are introduced with aplomb.
The dialogue between the protagonist and friends or enemies is often lyrical, poetic and always full of wit. This allows the reader to be fully immersed in the events of the book, my favorite times are sitting in the pub with characters who I count as good friends (IRL)
I have genuine envy for anyone who has not yet read this and I'm currently enjoying it again vicariously as my wife reads it for the first time.
I have no connection to the author but would embarrass myself if I ever met him by being over familiar.
"Hi Pat great to see you "
("Who is this guy????")
That being said and to basket and buy this book, four copies should be enough to give to your close friends.
