Well, this is the beginning of Disney committing production suicide. More to come! It is like Disney wants to go bankrupt! I am not saying this movie is what will cause such a thing, but the very limited ideas scope of just simply rewriting everything to earn diversity points is what will. What happened to DISNEY's creativity for new things? This is what continued to make DISNEY great and very successful and now it is gone?
Disney is supposed to be all about family values, and good morals, and instead now is all about satisfying a very small portion of the population that actually does not feel this is empowering at all, but in fact, doing the opposite entirely. Politics in Disney is such a bad idea. Disney is not coming across as being more diverse at all from such movies. So why not come out with new ideas with opportunities that make more sense? Has Disney run out of ideas?... I mean really?
The characters are just not believable because of such a rich history of intended roles that are placed in the garbage here. Although some great actors and actresses here, DISNEY sure knows how to make them feel not so right, awkward, not believable, and the film in certain parts uncomfortable. I mean this felt almost like it would watch a white man portraying Malcolm X; which you should agree would be odd and make completely no sense right, but Denzel Washington (one of my favorite actors of all time) was an amazing role for this because the shoe fit the way it was supposed to!
What is next a blue Mickey Mouse and a gender-confused Goofy? I grew up watching DISNEY nights on weekend TV, so I never thought I would live to see the end of Disney, but I guess within the next few years with continuing this path of zero originality; I will live to see this happen. Sad times indeed...
