Without being rude, Choti Sardarni is one of the worst shows I've ever had the misfortune of coming across. The older ladies in my family seem to love it which worries me greatly because the storyline is very backward for the 21st century and shows how many people still hold onto backward mentalities. Meher is made to live a domesticated life being a housewife and stepmother to some random man and his son, at the sacrifice of her true happiness with her former boyfriend that her evil mother did not approve of and murdered. She is FORCED into marriage, and then suddenly finds happiness in the union. If Sarabjit was poor or from a lower caste, most people would not rejoice at the blissful union of forced marriage, but because rich/handsome/extravagant man with extravagant lifestyle suddenly it's fine that she was forced into marriage. We do not need shows enforcing forced marriage stereotypes as a positive thing in India or Indian cultures, since this a massive problem that many females still face in this modern society and something that needs to stop.
