This is the first NR book I've started to read that I couldn't finish. I don't doubt there would be trauma from a kidnapping but to suggest the level of trauma Cate still experiences many years later seems very far fetched. Maybe I'm jaded but she was gone for a few hours, not assaulted. She is then babyed for the rest of her life because of what happened. To suggest her mother was able to get out of prison and resume her life and that society would still approve of her while disapproving of Cate is not believable to me I love NR books and JD Robb but this one was no where near her usual calibre.
